The Madison County Law Library is located to the 2nd floor of the Huntsville Public Library, 915 Monroe Street, Huntsville, Alabama 35801.
The Law Librarian will be available to assist patrons Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
The online legal research service, Lexis Nexis, has replaced the majority of the print materials. It is also extremely user-friendly for the general public to utilize for their legal research purposes.
The print collection currently includes the Alabama Practice Series; Code of Alabama; Alabama & Southern Reporter; Supreme Court Reporter; United States Code Annotated; United States Code Service; West’s Alabama Digest; American Jurisprudence; Corpus Juris Secundum; and many other volumes dealing specifically with Alabama or federal law.
The law library continues to maintain one of Alabama’s only two known complete sets of state and territorial acts, dating back to 1811, donated by James Record.
