Large Item Street Locator Listing 

The District 4 office is responsible for the removal of your large trash debris once a month. 

Please place large debris in front of your home at curbside or the edge of the roadway by 6:00am on the beginning of your scheduled week.  The amount of debris we will pick up at each house should fit into a standard pickup truck bed.  If your debris exceeds this, please call our office at 256-852-8351 to make special arrangements.  A service charge of $50 plus additional amount for disposal fees will be assessed by our Debris Collection Foreman. 

Typical trash items that are picked up include:

• Green Waste - Tree limbs (must be less than 8 ft in length), Brush, Bagged leaves & grass clippings, etc.

• Appliances - Washers, Refrigerators, etc.

• Furniture

Items NOT picked up include, but are not limited to: 

• Tree stumps, dirt, tires, automotive products, pesticides, paint, televisions, computers, glass, shingles, insulation, sheetrock, concrete, bricks, or rocks.  These items can be taken to the Huntsville Landfill (256-881-8700) or The Handle with Care Collection Center (256-880-6054). Household garbage/waste or refuse that would normally be placed in the green garbage cans WILL NOT be picked up.

All waste must be placed out for collection in such a manner not to obstruct the flow of surface water or be an obstruction to traffic or pedestrians.

NOTE: If you hire professional services such as, home reconstruction or tree disposal, the workers should dispose of the waste they generate and CANNOT put this out for county collection.

Large Item Drop Off

If you miss your collection week or would like to get rid of your large debris early, you have the option of bringing it to our office (6084 Highway 53, Harvest). Please bag or box small items to be thrown away. You will need to come in the office to sign in. We have a large concrete pit area that we clean out daily, where you can place your large debris items. Our hours are as follows:

• Monday - Thursday:  6:00am - 4:30pm

• Friday:  7:00am - 3:30pm
