The District 4 office is responsible for the removal of your large trash debris once a month.
Please place large debris in front of your home at curbside or the edge of the roadway by 6:00am on the beginning of your scheduled week. During peak collection times, due to the increase in the amount of trash being placed out, collections may be delayed. The amount of debris we will pick up at each house should fit into a standard pickup truck bed. If your debris exceeds this, please call our office at 256-852-8351 to make special arrangements. A service charge of $50 plus additional amount for disposal fees will be assessed by our Debris Collection Foreman.
Typical trash items that are picked up include:
Green Waste - Tree limbs (must be less than 8 ft in length), Brush, Bagged leaves & grass clippings, etc.
Appliances - Washers, Refrigerators, etc.
Items NOT picked up include, but are not limited to:
Tree stumps, dirt, tires, automotive products, pesticides, paint, televisions, computers, shingles, insulation, concrete, bricks, or rocks. These items can be taken to the Huntsville Landfill (256-881-8700) or The Handle with Care Collection Center (256-880-6054).
All waste must be placed out for collection in such a manner not to obstruct the flow of surface water or be an obstruction to traffic or pedestrians.
NOTE: If you hire professional services such as, home reconstruction or tree disposal, the workers should dispose of the waste they generate and CANNOT put this out for county collection.
Large Item Drop Off
If you miss your collection week or would like to get rid of your large debris early, you have the option of bringing it to our office. Items will need to be placed by you onto a trash truck during these hours:
Monday - Thursday: 6:00am - 4:30pm
Friday: 7:00am - 3:30pm
