The Madison County Purchasing Department procures equipment, materials, supplies and services for Madison County offices. Laws regulating county government requires Invitation for Bids to be mailed to interested vendors. Vendors return sealed bids to the Purchasing Department prior to 2:00 p.m. on the opening date. Bids are opened in the Madison County Commission Boardroom. In cases where purchases will not exceed $15,000.00, a high level of competition is also maintained through quotations, which is more flexible. Minor purchases under $1,000.00 may be purchased by county departments upon approval from the Purchasing Department.

The Purchasing Warehouse inventories and distributes supplies to county offices. This facility is approximately 10,000 square feet, and is where larger supplies are stocked.
